The Mighty Monkey Corporation is the Rochester-based parent company of Flower City Comic Con http://www.fc3roc.com/
, affectionately known as FC3, and is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit educational corporation dedicated to creating awareness of, and appreciation for, popular culture art forms, primarily through the presentation of conventions and events that celebrate the historic and ongoing contribution of comics to art and culture. The Corporation is formed for the charitable purpose of preserving and showcasing contemporary cultural elements depicted. A further purpose of the Corporation is to educate the general public about the physical entertainment provided in communities. The Mighty Monkey Corporation is building a business plan to move forward and grow the show over the years. Always wanting to add to the show from year to year. Their slogan: “Where it all comes together” reflects the desire to pull multiple genres and fandoms together under one roof.
The first Flower City Comic Con occurred in 2016 and drew over 1700 people. FC3 has several local sponsors including Nox, Selena’s, 1st Print Comics and Hilton Advisory.
For 2017, FC3 is bringing in Colin Baker from Doctor Who, Bruce Boxleitner from Babylon 5 and Tron, Voice actors: Tom Kane, Tina Nishimura and original Red Power Ranger Austin St. John. Legendary comic book artist Larry Hama and a huge array of local artists like Shane Logan, Eugene Commodore, Jason Ferguson and Juda Nevadomski will also be in attendance.
FC3 will host a Convention Launch Party at the Hyatt Regency Ballroom on Friday May 19, 2017 from 8:00 pm to 11:00 pm. Separate admission is required. All tickets can be purchased athttps://register.growtix.com/e/flower_city_comic_con_2017
